Of the total area of 680 hectares, 400 to 500 hectares belong to the Guanyin Industrial Zone, leaving only a little agricultural land and housing.

However, today's scene is not what it used to be in the woods. In the Guanyin district, which used to grow large areas of rice and watermelons, in the early years, sulfur dioxide emissions from Linkou thermal power plant affected farming, and because of the policy, residents living in the Amping area of Shimen Reservoir were relocated, and large areas of coastal windbreak forests in the woods were removed for residential use. Strong sea breezes also make it difficult for crops to grow.

In the trend of industrialization, the agricultural landscape is gradually transformed into cement buildings, young people leave home to work, and the fallow farmland has become a wasteland overgrown with weeds, followed by red fire ants and wild rats.

In the face of the environmental problems caused by fallow farmland and the needs of local industrial transformation, after manpower training in rural regeneration programs and understanding of household simple environmental facilities such as "symbiosis of fish and vegetables" and "rain" in low-carbon neighborhood programs, the chief and community partners had an idea: "Why don't we just use this land to make a huge version of symbiosis of fish and vegetables plus rain?"

So in 106, the community used 70,000 yuan in planned funds to build the first demonstration ecological flood detention basin. Since it does not need to spend a large amount of project money, it can achieve the effect of reusing idle land and reducing the problem of flooding, and planting lotus does not require much manpower, and it is more cost-effective than receiving subsidies for fallow farming of agricultural land. as a result, more and more landlords are willing to provide land as ecological flood detention ponds. At present, the total area of the detention basin in the community has reached 8.8 hectares, and the maximum water storage capacity can reach 79200 cubic meters.
