Taichung MRT said that the first train to install and upgrade axles was first tested on the main line on the 14th, and the public will be able to see the train running on the track one after another in the future. As for the reopening schedule of the Green Line, it still needs to be examined and approved by the Taichung City-MRT Fault Review Committee.

Taichung MRT said that after the semi-permanent coupling shaft fracture occurred on the MRT Green Line, it immediately announced the suspension of trial operation. After expanded testing and third-party fair unit inspection, the manufacturer, in order to completely solve the failure risk, re-strengthen the shaft strength and change the shaft type, all the 36 axes of the MRT Green Line will be replaced and upgraded shafts, and each train will first test 100 km in the test rail after completing the shaft update. After the test is finished, go back to the factory to check for no abnormality, and then go to the main line to test the operation mode of 300 km.

Before the departure, Lin Zhiying, chairman of China Czech Corporation, and relevant supervisors inspected the condition and said that the other 17 trains will also be tested on the main line one after another after the installation is completed. after the completion of the running test on the main line, the train will be transferred back to the maintenance shop for medical examination to make sure that all the equipment is in normal operation. According to the plan put forward by the Beijie Bureau and manufacturers, the installation of the upgraded version of the shaft is expected to be completed on February 2, and all 18 trains will continue to complete the main line test.

Taichung MRT stressed that as for the resumption of trial operation, it is necessary for the "Taichung City-MRT Fault Review Committee" to review whether the test results of the axis upgrade solution are consistent with the cause analysis, and on the premise that they are safe and sound. Taichung City-will agree to resume trial operation.
