Five native tree species in Taiwan, reversing the domestic wood self-sufficiency rate! The Council of Agriculture expects to increase the wood self-sufficiency rate to 5% by 2027. Acacia, beech, Chinese fir, Taiwan fir and Taiwan Xiao Nan are expected to be used as artificial economic forest species in the next 30 years. At present, sequoia, Taiwan fir and Taiwan Xiao Nan already have seed orchards, and breeding gardens for other tree species are under construction, which will be provided by the Forestry Bureau for seedlings to operators.
