Bonsai can also be cultivated without soil. Have you heard of it? The technique of soilless culture of potted plants introduced in this paper has many advantages such as rapid growth, vigorous growth, early flowering, large and fragrant flowering, cold resistance and summer heat tolerance, few pests and diseases, etc.

Bonsai soilless culture technology used in the following flower plants: turtle, Milan, Clivia, Camellia, rose, jasmine, azalea, kumquat, evergreen, violet, Phalaenopsis, fuchsia, pine needles, camptotheca, rubber fig, Brazil iron, begonias, ferns, palm plants and other indoor and outdoor flower bonsai.

The following is a detailed introduction to the method and operation steps of flower bonsai soilless cultivation technology:

Soilless cultivation methods for potted plants:

(1) Selection of matrix

The commonly used substrates for soilless culture in potted plants include vermiculite, pearlite, sand, gravel, etc. The mixed substrates are suitable for mixed use. The commonly used mixed substrates are vermiculite: pearlite: sand =1:1:1. If the plant lacks stability after planting, the proportion of sand can be appropriately increased. If necessary, the plant can be fixed with stone roots, pressed surfaces or metal wires.

(2) Preparation and irrigation of nutrient solution

Recently, the formula of nutrient solution commonly used is Zhu's formula (Zhu Shiwu, 1988), whose composition is: calcium nitrate 0.8g, potassium nitrate 0.4g, potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.25g, disodium EDTA 20mg, ferrous sulfate 15mg, manganese sulfate 4mg, boric acid 6mg, zinc sulfate 0.2mg, copper sulfate 0.1mg, ammonium molybdate 0.2mg. The above chemicals are dissolved in 1000ml of tap water.

Adjust the pH value of nutrient solution prepared from the above formula to 6.0 and dilute it by 100 times before use. The nutrient solution must be irrigated for the first time, and the dipping basin method should be used. After that, proper amount of nutrient solution should be poured once a week, and the dormant period should be poured once every 20 days.

(3) cultivation under rain shelter conditions is encouraged to reduce nutrient loss. Usually watering with tap water is good, a little dry that is, watering, watering thoroughly.

(4) When soilless culture is converted to soilless culture, special attention should be paid to the disinfection of pots and plants to avoid bringing diseases and insect pests into soilless culture.

Operation steps:

Step 1: Prepare nutrient solution.

Nutrient solution can be purchased directly or prepared by yourself. The method of self-preparation is as follows:

1. Major elements: potassium nitrate 3 g, calcium nitrate 5 g, magnesium sulfate 3 g, ammonium phosphate 2 g, potassium sulfate 1 g, potassium dihydrogen phosphate 1 g;

2. Trace elements: 100 mg of disodium ethyldiammonium tetraacetate, 75 mg of ferrous sulfate, 30 mg of boric acid, 20 mg of manganese sulfate, 5 mg of zinc sulfate, 1 mg of copper sulfate, 2 mg of ammonium molybdate;

3. Prepare 5 kg of tap water. A nutrient solution is prepared by mixing macroelements and microelements into solutions respectively. Trace element dosage is very small, not easy to weigh, can expand the multiple preparation, and then reduce by the same multiple to extract its amount.

Step 2: Remove the bowl. Eject the roots and soil from the holes in the basin floor with your fingers.

Step 3: Wash the roots. That is, the roots with soil are soaked in water close to the ambient temperature, and the rhizosphere soil is washed.

Step 4: Immersion. Soak the cleaned roots in the prepared nutrient solution for 10 minutes to allow them to fully absorb nutrients.

Step 5: Fill the basin and pour the liquid. Wash the flowerpot, place tiles or fill plastic yarn in the bottom hole of the pot, then put a little pearlite and zhishi in the pot, then put the plant into the pot and stabilize it, then fill the light minerals such as pearlite and zhishi around the root system, shake the flowerpot gently, so that the minerals are closely connected with the root system. Then irrigate the prepared nutrient solution until there is liquid flowing out of the bottom hole.

Step 6: Reinforce the roots. With Ying Shi, Fu Li Shi and other fragments on the root system above, strengthen the root system, to avoid lodging. At the same time spray some water on the leaves.

Flower potted plant soilless cultivation techniques maintenance precautions:

Soilless culture of flowers bonsai, lighting, temperature and other conditions of the requirements and soil culture is no different. Plant growth period irrigates nutrient solution once a week, the dosage depends on the plant size, leaf growth slow flowers dosage is reduced; winter or dormant period half a month to January irrigates once. Indoor foliage plants can survive under weak light conditions, and the amount of nutrient solution should be reduced. Nutrient solutions can also be used for foliar spraying. Pay attention to timely watering at ordinary times.

Potted soilless culture is a cultivation method in which potted plants are planted in some inorganic substrates and regularly watered with nutrient solution. Compared with traditional soil culture, soilless culture of potted plants has many advantages and will become an important symbol of modern potted plant production.

The advantages of potted soilless culture:

1, potted soilless culture can make potted plants grow fast, high quality, and thus can accelerate the formation of potted plants.

2, non-toxic, odorless, clean and hygienic, so that bonsai is more suitable for indoor decoration, conducive to bonsai into thousands of households.

3. It creates favorable conditions for potted plants to earn foreign exchange. Because many countries such as the United States, Japan, Australia, Holland and so on do not allow soil-bearing plants to enter, therefore, potted soilless culture can make potted plants smoothly through the quarantine customs of various countries, convenient export.

4, potted soilless culture can save the complicated operation of turning pots, but also make handling light.

5. It is beneficial to the factory mass production of potted plants.
