In response to the recent suspension of irrigation without warning, farmers' representatives and support groups in Taozhumiao area today protested against the haste and irrationality of the irrigation suspension policy in front of the Executive Yuan. Farmers put forward five major demands, asking the government not to sacrifice agriculture, but also to raise the level of governance of climate change and jointly respond to the test of extreme weather in the future. The farmers' representatives lamented the reckless actions of the Chen Committee of Agriculture and demanded that Chen Jizhong step down.

Industrial water stoppage is the hardship of the community. "Don't think that farmers are easy to bully."

Before the press conference began, farmers Hongshen, Tian Shouxi, and Xu Shirong, a professor in the Department of Politics and Land Politics, prayed with incense, hoping that Taiwan would have favorable weather and stay away from man-made disasters.

"Man-made disaster" refers to an unscrupulous government. Hongshi pointed to the sky and said, "Today we are here to ask for our lives for grain." obviously, the lack of water is a common issue for everyone, but the government only asks farmers to sacrifice. "I don't know what people are going to eat in the future."
