Contract barren mountains to run tea gardens, engage in green prevention and control of pests, and introduce e-commerce to keep pace with the times. Xu Qilai, deputy secretary of the party branch of Haojiachong Village, Haojiagang Town, Haohe District, Xinyang City, and party branch secretary and chairman of the three rural professional cooperatives in Xianhe District, Xinyang City, built a ten thousand mu tea garden, aiming at the century-old brand.

In 1990, Xu Qilai graduated from Xinyang Agricultural College and first contracted 150 mu of tea garden in Haojiachong Village. In the winter of 1996, he contracted more than 2000 mu of barren mountain to transform it into fir orchard, bamboo forest, and walnut orchard. In 2001, he contracted more than 5000 mu of barren mountain to plant paulownia, walnut, bamboo forest and chestnut orchard.

Xu Qilai, a university graduate, has been dealing with agriculture and has been unswerving for more than 20 years. Later, all these turned to the tea garden. Today, Xu Qilai's tea garden covers an area of more than 11000 mu, driving more than 20, 000 people from three townships to participate in the tea industry.

"Tea farmers used to rely on heaven for a living, but now they can rely on their own professional skills and can be continuously enriched through a technical platform to provide support for sustainable skills." Xu Qilai said that this has greatly improved the ideas and professional skills of tea farmers and kept pace with the development of the times.
