(Taiwan TB News Network / reporter Sun Yaozhang) the Octagonal Pavilion, an important historical scenic spot in Jinguashi, was a rare shaving shop from the Japanese occupation period to the end of operation of the mining company in 1987. In 2001, due to Typhoon Nali, the Octagonal Pavilion unfortunately collapsed and destroyed, and the only remaining pedestal was abandoned for many years. Wu Ganzheng, the head of Shishan, actively strived for the reconstruction of the Octagonal Pavilion, and reached a consensus among the people to join hands with the Gold Museum to revitalize the space and reproduce the historical scene of the Octagonal Pavilion. Create a new space for community rest.

Xie Wenxiang, curator of the Gold Museum, said that over the past two years, the museum has promoted the mine art season, thinking about the possibility of art as a place to accompany; the improvement of the landscape environment can activate the space that has been abandoned for many years, and gradually present the aesthetic corridor style of the "Golden Mountain City." This time, the space arrangement of the former site of the Octagonal Pavilion specially retains the original features of the "Thirteen ditch Brick" and the "Natural Spring Pool" of the 1920s pedestal, resulting in an endless stream of clear springs, making the Octagonal Pavilion a new resting space with local memories. People are welcome to play with each other.

Chief Wu Gan mentioned that in the octagonal pavilion in Japanese times, there were three haircut chairs, a large mirror, and a red juniper workbench about three inches thick, and people who shaved their heads often had to wait in line. In the 1980s, because of its special shape, Octagonal Pavilion was selected by director Hou Xiaoxian as the shooting scene of the well-known film "the City of sadness". Tony Leung, who plays the leading role in the film, takes pictures of people in this octagonal "photo studio". Today, the picture in the film has become the most precious image record of the Octagonal Pavilion.

In order to let the public understand the history of Octagonal Pavilion, Huangbo Museum plans to "focus on Octagonal Pavilion-online exploration activities" from November 17 to 24. As long as people go to the museum's Facebook to fill in the Q & A form, they will have the opportunity to draw a limited number of "gold mine rich table tour". The winners will be announced on Facebook on November 27 (Saturday).
