Cymbidium is a green plant that many people like to raise. If you want to raise a pot of orchid, the basic requirement is to master the correct watering method, so how to water the orchid correctly.

Essentials of watering gentleman orchid in four seasons

1. Spring and Autumn period

In the peak growing season of Cymbidium in spring and autumn, watering can be seen dry and wet, and there is no stagnant water in the flowerpot, so there are relatively few rotten roots in these two seasons.

2. Summer

The summer temperature is relatively high, and the temperature of the magnolia basin soil is also high, so the water temperature of watering magnolia can not be too different from the soil temperature, otherwise it is also easy to cause damage to the root system, so it is better to let the water dry when watering. This can make the soil temperature close to the water temperature will not cause harm.

3. Winter

It is better to water the orchid in winter with slightly warm water on a sunny noon. Of course, the water temperature should not be too high, and it is easy for the root system of the orchid to be too high. Need to reduce the watering of orchids in winter, if the indoor temperature is relatively high, then orchids can also grow in winter, you need to ensure adequate water.

The correct watering method of gentleman orchid

1. Watering should be moderate

Some people have heard that Magnolia is a kind of wet plant, they need watering every day, causing the basin soil to be moist for a long time, the soil air is insufficient, and the roots are seriously anoxic and rotten; the other kind of people are afraid of watering, they will rot the roots, and every time there is only a little water or pot spray, the water is sprinkled on the leaves. In fact, the basin is dry, causing the monarchy to grow slowly for a long time, the leaves withered, and even withered and died.

The correct method is that the soil in the basin is not dry or collapsed, and the water should be watered thoroughly and without leakage, which can not only ensure the uniform contact between the water and the root system, but also avoid the loss of soil nutrients. As long as you pour a little water, there will be no water in the root of the flowerpot. The deep pots separate and form an intersecting layer. Once the water is poured, the water will leak from the wall of the jar, so that although the water has been watered, the soil in the middle and lower layers is still dry.

2. Time and water temperature

It should be watered at 8 o'clock in the morning, and tap water or well water should be trapped for 2-3 days to keep the water temperature close to room temperature. The watering time in summer is about 7 o'clock in the morning, and the temperature is high at noon. For the magnolia of 1 ~ 2 years, it can be watered once a day, and the watering cycle of more than 3 years can be flexibly controlled according to the dry and wet conditions of the basin soil. It should be watered at noon in winter, because the lower soil temperature can irrigate 30-35 ℃ of water to increase the soil temperature and facilitate early flowering.

3. Water quality treatment

The water used to irrigate gentleman orchids is generally tap water used in cities, and most of the villages are well water. Neither of these two kinds of water is suitable and must be treated and used. These methods are as follows:

The suitable pH value of water is 5.5 ~ 6.5, and the pH value of water is less than 7. Tap water can be used for 1 ~ 2 days under natural conditions. When the pH value is greater than 7, a small amount of ferrous sulfate or potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be added to the water to neutralize well water.

Both fresh water and well water are lower than the soil temperature and contain certain impurities, which is not conducive to the growth of Cymbidium. Substances in the water can be oxidized and impurities precipitate, and the water temperature is close to the soil temperature until the water stays in the water for 1-2 days.
